Please read the license for FlowMatrix software before proceeding to download below. You will be presented with license again during installation process and will be required to accept it in order to continue with installation.

Starting on November 1, 2007 in our special gratitude to Open Source Community which numerous tools we have used (Apache server, PHP, Postgres DB, Python) we are glad to grant the right to use our product in its full functionality at no cost for:
  • institutions (universities, colleges, schools, etc);
  • any non profit organizations (funds, charities);
  • any personal use;
In addition, we may grant, at our full discretion, a free license to any business that cannot afford purchasing of this software. Please, note that in all the cases above the product would still require a valid license file to unlock it after the 60 days period so interested parties please apply for the license here:

Also, please understand that the product support for all free licenses may be limited and provided on a residual basis in email form only.

Note:

After evaluation period of 60 days, you will still keep most of the functionality available in full operational version. For example, you will have high performance rule system still available for you, basic NetFlow stats information, etc. The only functionality which will be not available to you after the evaluation period is the detailed information about anomaly events.

Hardware and Software requirements

For normal operation of FlowMatrix the following are hardware and software requirements:

Minimum hardware requirements

1. Small Networks (<100 hosts):

Intel Pentium 4 or compatible 2.4 GHz or higher processor;
1 GB of free disk space;
1 GB of RAM;

2. Medium Networks (<2000 hosts):

Intel Core 2 Duo or compatible 2.0 GHz or higher processor;
4 GB of free disk space;
2 GB of RAM

Minimum software requirements

Windows 2000 (Server or Professional) or Windows XP (Home or Professional) or Windows 2003 Server.

NetFlow collectors

NetFlow version 1, 5 or 7 compatible collector (example: any Cisco router)

Installation

The FlowMatrix has standard installation program to simplify your installation, so you just run install and it will install all the needed components including Apache and Postgre SQL servers, help and other program files.

When you are done using FlowMatrix and would like to remove it from your system it has uninstall, which will cleanly remove all program components from your system, including Apache server and Postgre SQL servers. To uninstall go to Control Panel and select "Add/Remove Programs", find entry for "FlowMatrix" and then click on "Remove" button to fully uninstall.

Note: Installation will install FlowMatrix with default administrator account for WebGUI access default credentials user: admin, pswd: admin which we strongly recommend to change right after first login.

To help you have better idea of what we really mean, we have included some interesting screenshots, so you can decide if you would like to install FlowMatrix and give it a try.

The screenshot on the left shows Dash Board Page, which is main starting page for all of the security monitoring of your network. The screenshot on the right shows some of the detailed information presented for anomalous event. Each of the addresses, ports can be drilled down further by clinking on proper hyperlinks.
